Definition of Pro-forma invoice |
A Pro-forma invoice is an invoice issued upon placement of the order, usually with no credit offered. It is written as an invoice with payment terms written as immediate or as pro-forma. It is essentially an immediate offer of a contract, which may be accepted by the customer by the act of payment.
