Definition of Purchase Ledger |
The purchase ledger within accounting software contains the accounts of suppliers from whom the business has bought goods or services on credit. It records information such as invoices received, credit notes received and payments sent, and the total balance of all accounts in the ledger is held in a single control account in the nominal ledger.
